Blood, Soil, and Joe Arpaio

Below, some praise for the book. I’ve been so grateful to everyone who has read the book and offered their thoughts and endorsement.

This month for Democracy Docket, I wrote about ex-sheriff Joe Arpaio — who is running for the Mayor of Fountain Hills — and how his media tactics set a template for Donald Trump’s deportation plan. An important aspect of Arpaio’s reign of terror includes how many Democrats in high places permitted this to happen for so long, up until the point where it could not be ignored any longer. In my book, I argue that Arpaio is an important model for Trump in many ways. Not the least of which is that Arpaio planned his own assassination attempt in an effort to get re-elected. (The details are horrific — Arapio used a snitch to goad a teenager into attempting the deed. The teen went to prison.)
