The big news is that Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb has announced that he is running for Senate. This was anticipated because, of course, he has been saying he will run for weeks. I wrote about him for Politico and about his role in promoting True the Vote here. More forthcoming.
In other news,
Frederick County, Maryland, Sheriff Chuck Jenkins was indicted in federal court for his role in a criminal conspiracy. Basically, he used his office as sheriff to write letters to machine gun manufacturers saying that he wanted firearms for “evaluation.” He then turned around and sold or gave those weapons to his friend, Robert Krop, who runs a shooting range called The Machine Gun Nest.
What’s gotten less traction in the news is that this looks like a guns-for-votes scheme. Jenkins bought guns for Krop, who in turn supported his campaigns.
Jenkins has a reputation for being anti-immigrant, associating with groups like FAIR, as well as very far-right. He’s set to appear in federal court tomorrow. He’s been linked to other far-right sheriffs and is a member of Lamb’s group Protect America Now. More on this also later.
Finally, I want to mention the conviction of Daniel Perry for the murder of Garret Foster and Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s plan to "pardon” Perry. I don’t have much to add to the facts (see Radley Balko’s post for that), but here’s what I think is worth highlighting — Perry is one of a long string of heavily-armed White men who feel entitled to shoot left-wing activists (Foster was marching in a 2020 protest against police brutality) for speech they do not like. It is clear that Perry’s acts were politically motivated and that the GOP is endorsing them. That seems like a clarion call. More another time.
Jewish U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D), great grandson of Jacob Schiff (who funded Bolshevism, Leon Trotsky, and the October Revolution from Wall Street) is following in his great grandfather’s footsteps by illegally trafficking weapons with Igor Pasternak, funding foreign conflicts abroad . . . and trying to get Syria for the oil pipelines by blaming the Russians for another false flag . . . while Israel bombs Syria during earthquake relief efforts . . .
I'll take Ukrainian money laundering and weapons trafficking for $100 billion, Alex . . . ding ding ding . . . It's the DAILY DOUBLE!
