A High School acquaintance (from 50 years ago) was a long-long-time TV news anchor on a local station in Fresno. Got into a discussion of crime, rates and coverage. She insisted, in 2012, that crime rates were exploding; the highest they had EVER been in this country. Her evidence? The local sheriff said so. When i gave her the actual evidence and stats that show the opposite, she simply dismissed them and stopped discussing.
When you constantly look at the world across a pistol sight, the world looks scary and dangerous. Somehow we need to remind them that the guns they constantly see are just their own.
